Man Up!

I have been reading through the news today about the “Supreme” Court’s ruling on gay marriage. All of this seems to me to be an attack on fathers. Satan is out to destroy the right of every child to be raised in a home where a man truly reveals the image of God. The kingdom comes when the hearts of the fathers are turned toward their children. (Malachi 4:6) The abortion debate and the gay rights agenda are all about striking at the core of fatherhood: the responsibility of men to love their wives as Christ loved the church and to rear their children in the fear of the Lord. Both homosexuality and abortion are a result of father-failure. The lust of men drives both.

The real target of Satan’s rage is the fatherhood of God. If Satan can successfully distort the revelation of God to the world through the natural and primary revelation of earthly fathers, then he has perverted from childhood what it means to be loved and to love as a father. I really think this is what this is all about.

Hollywood attacks fathers. MTV and BET celebrate misogynist boys that grow taller but never grow up. Even Adventures In Odyssey often seems to find a way to make dad look silly and mom look practical and wise. And I do not mean to say that Focus On the Family is a tool of the devil. But I do mean to say that demeaning fathers has become a way of life for Western society.  And I think that the culture-wide assault on fatherhood is really just masked hatred for God.

I heard a lesbian activist from California on the radio today say that now all children, especially those reared in gay and lesbian homes, will have equality. But they won’t, will they? Because they will not have the equality of being loved by both a father and a mother. So, though we may treat them like they are equal, and we should never treat anyone with anything less than the love of God, they start out with a significant disadvantage: they do not have the ever-present love of a father and a mother. That is not equal, no matter how much the smart people say so. What they have done is harm the children for their own selfish gratification. What they ought to do is recognize that their selfish yielding to unnatural desires and their demand that society accept and celebrate their failure as triumph is actually the worst possible thing that could happen to “The Children.”

But, again, the real root of the problem is an attack on fatherhood. Satan attacks fathers to distort the image and revelation of God. So, if this is an attack on fathers, what is the answer? Fathers. Fathers being fathers is the answer. The root of this problem is fathers that have abandoned their calling to love as Christ loved.

Our answer does not lie with politics. The ironically and hubristically named “Supreme” Court is not the answer. The answer lies with men like you and me that simply start living like men of God. Men like us who break free from the mentality of the world that children are a burden, an expensive nuisance to be prevented as much as possible, and recover the word from God that “children are the heritage of the Lord and the fruit of the womb is His reward.” (Psalm 127) Men that give themselves to love their wives as their own bodies. Men that show their sons how to love a woman and their daughters how be loved by a man. Men that rein in their lusts and demonstrate a purpose greater than their groin.

I am starting to rant, so I better stop. But the real solution to our problem does not lie with the world. The world is condemned already. But Christian men should feel inspired today by the possibilities. If we can just be men, and if our wives can birth more than 2.1 babies, then–if the Lord tarries–time is on our side. The anti-father crowd are not having many babies! Let’s rear up godly families and show the world what the true beauty of loving families looks like. But there is no sense in mourning the decline of society if we are not willing to change the decline in our own homes. Man up!

Great read. I find it very difficult to stand for truth in public places. Anytime you say anything pro-God and anti-Liberal, you are demonized. Hardly do i ever get a rational argument from the LGBT or Liberal community, just slanderous names. On a side note, my wife, I’m sure is reading this right now and getting baby fever again.

Loved this! Especially the fact that you acknowledged that we cannot treat people any different just because they have stepped outside the rules. Love the idea of men stepping up. That is greatly needed. As a single mom, it is very hard to instill in my daughter what a true Godly man looks and acts like.

Aside from the fact that homosexuality is an abomination based on biblical principles, it is so sad that people who call themselves adults would believe that it is right. I was involved in a discussion talking about gay people having kids. I made the statement “they can buy them or borrow them but two gay people cannot HAVE a child, it’s not my rule it is how God made us.” What I think is sad is how those people will have a direct effect on the psychology of an innocent child. So how long do we have to deal with this until there are no more “normal” people to fall in love, get married, and populate the earth? I believe we are in the days of Sodom and Gomorrah, and The Lord our God will show his wrath to those who blatantly disregard his commandments and the path he provides us in his word. God bless his people and those who choose to follow his word and in faith believe in his promise and the great commission.

As always, on issues like this, Pastor Pixler focuses on the heart of the issue. Great post.

My son attends your church so he sent me this link to read. Well put Brother Pixler! My comment is a little off track, but I’m thinking about a message my Pastor just taught the other night on “Don’t Believe A Lie”. Believing a lie is very powerful. God knows it and so does Satan. If as a child you were told you are a loser and will never amount to nothing, if this lie is believed it will come to pass. Homosexuals are believing a lie, who have now caused the government officials to believe the same lie..and churches and on and on. “…because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness:” 2 Thess 2:10-12. The belief of a lie, or something contrary to God’s Word, is enough to make me want to love God’s word all the harder!…every chapter! every verse! every line! But these people not only did not receive the love of the truth, but they changed it. “Who changed the truth of God into a lie, …For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:” Rom 1:25-26

  6. I’ve finally figured out this Android app ! And just in time to read another excellent, thought provoking post from Bro.Pixler. And, I might add, some excellent, encouraging comments from other saints of like, precious faith. This blatant, defiant roar against men makes me think about another giant named Goliath. He was also an abominable, unnatural lie of mankind that defied the laws of nature. He was certainly an intimidating site to behold, I can only Imagine ! Because of his show of strength and arrogance, the Army of God, under the weak willed, faith deficient leadership of Saul, trembled. Who could defy him ? What mighty warrior would step forth and challenge this giant in their midst ? It was none other than a mere youth ! And I believe it is the youth of our Apostolic churches today that will take the battle to the enemy ! More than any other generation today, they have the most to lose. And also, the most to gain. But, as bro. Pixler eluded to, we can outnumber them. IF the youth of today will accept the challenge to be the godly fathers of tomorrow ! So, let us join our voices in prayer with bro. Pixler, praying The Lord would inspire, strengthen and call the fathers of today to step up, and train up their children in the way they should go. Lord bless.

God’s Law verse’s man-made laws? The U.S. built their laws on God’s Laws many year’s ago. And as a result the U.S. has and is being Blessed of God. Now those laws of man are not reflecting those laws of God “changing” the very blessings once received and being thankful for; into a down the road doom awaiting for the U.S. Every Nation that forgets God will be turned into “HELL”. I liked your response in parenthood. Our children and grandchildren will be put to the test of times.
